What a pet addendum is
A pet addendum attaches to an existing lease. It lists the animals the landlord is allowing, any pet deposit or pet rent, and the house rules that apply. It does not replace the lease.
When to use it
Use it when a lease already exists and the parties want a written record of approved pets and related terms. Fill in the lease date and property so the addendum clearly belongs with that lease.
Assistance animals are not pets. Do not use this addendum to treat an assistance animal as a pet or to charge pet fees for one. Follow applicable housing rules for assistance animals.
